Intercession - Prayer
Videos
Idea 1
Scavenger Hunt
Prepare some pieces of paper, each with a prayer idea on it.
Hide the papers in a room and ask the kids to go on a hunt.
Once they find a piece of paper ask them to sit down and pray for the thing on their paper.
Or bring all the papers back once they are found and split the kids up into small groups to pray for the things on their papers.
Idea 2
Spinning Globe
Let the kids put their finger on a globe and spin it.
When the globe stops spinning ask the kids to pray for the country or water where the kids finger lands.
Idea 3
Tell Stories
Tell the kids stories about times when you have prayed for people and things happened.
Ask the kids if they have any stories to share.
Idea 4
Creative prayer
Divide your space into a few sections
Give each space a name like Family, School, Friends, World, Leaders, Me. Make one room a quiet room where they can go and just pause, listen and talk quietly to God.
In each of the spaces give the kids things to use to help them pray creatively. Play-doh, pipe cleaners, paint, magazines to cut out and past pictures on a mural.
Give the kids time to be creative and pray.
Idea 5
Play 20 questions with the kids.
Give the kids a larger topic, like family, animals, countries, and ask them to think of something from that topic.
Then play 20 questions where everyone can ask them up to 20 questions that have yes or no answers to try to guess what they were thinking of.
Once the thing is guessed, pray for it.
For example, if the kid was thinking of their Dad, then everyone takes a minute and prays for their Dad.
