This is a great activity for older kids who have some time and patience to build it.
Idea 4
Is this a Church?
Show the kids various pictures of churches from around the world.
Ask them what they think of the churches?
What church would they like to go to?
What are their favourite things about church?.

Why was the temple important to Solomon and the people of Israel?
What materials did Solomon use to build the temple?
How did God show that He was pleased with the temple?

Idea 6
Give the kids some building materials (paper, crayons, lego, play-doh, popsicle sticks) and let them design a temple for God.
What do they think a temple needs?
What would their dream church look like?
Idea 7
Have a discussion with the kids.
Ask them how they would feel if God asked them to build a temple.
Give them examples of things God has asked other people to do. (Maybe there is a Missionary in your church, or someone who has done some great things for God) Ask them to come in and tell their story.
Let the kids find a spot to pray. Get them to ask God if there is anything He would like them to do.
